The time has come to shed off the layers of 2018 and say hello to a brand spankin' New Year. The New Year brings hope as the start of a new chapter begins. We get 365 days full of new challenges, new memories, lessons learned, fears faced, 365 days chalk full of chances. What do you have planned for 2019? How are you going to make 2019 your year? Where will you start? Page 1 of your 365 starts here. While New Years resolutions are often a good thought, it seems as though we start with all of these amazing resolutions of how much we want to change from our past years and then 3-6 months in we've found ourselves off the band wagon and ready for a re-start.
Instead of making resolutions that are often unrealistic, how about picking a word for the year and living by that word? Reboot an area of your life, take a life audit. Granted, any of these things can happen on any given day throughout the year, but a brand new year with a brand new day one gives you the chance to track your progress throughout the 365.
2019 is a brand new chapter to your life, and you are the author. You get to choose the setting, the characters who play roles in the story, the adventures you go on, the lessons you learn. The fears that you face, and overcome. It's all a growing period, whether you're just starting out, you're in the middle, or nearing the end.
Let 2019 be your year by allowing yourself to grow in ways you never imagined you could. Anything is possible. Set monthly goals to accomplish. If you don't accomplish them, that's okay too. Take a deep breath, look into your life and see what you are occupying your time with... is it healing you, or hurting you? Give yourself priorities: What in life is important to you? Make them a priority. Take enough time for yourself in the new year, show yourself the love you deserve; in turn it will pour out onto others.
Go on an adventure, set some money aside and plan a trip. You can make it happen, even if it means just for the day. It doesn't even have to be out of the country, it can be a new (to you) town, a different state, or that restaurant you've always wanted to try and just haven't made the time for. Discover new places, new things, new people. It will help you grow. Appreciate where you are at now, and know that it is up to you to change your path.
Be confident, know who you are and know what you want. Self-confidence is the best outfit, rock it, and own it. You are you for a reason, be YOU in 2019. Don't conform to what you "think" you should be or how you want others to perceive you.
Have faith in 2019. Have faith that all things happen for a reason. The lessons we go through, the trials we face. We are constantly growing every day of our lives, but a new year brings on new growth. God knows where you are at, and knows where you are going. Trust that your faith will pave the path to your future by trusting that he has it under control.
What things in 2018 ceased your growth stage? Destroy the fear that causes you to stay when you know you should leave. Get rid of all of the things that caused you to fall last year.
In 2019, restructure the way you live your life. You can still have the same dreams, and goals. And while there may be challenges in the new year, the best is yet to come.
Clean your slate, and start fresh. New year, same you. Bigger goals, bigger dreams, positivity, and a confidence fueled mindset that gets you through all of the opportunities, adventures, and growth stages 2019 has to offer.
Make 2019 your year. Happy New Year!
